Movie fans are thrilled for the release of “It Takes a Man
and a Woman”, the third instalment of Star Cinema and Viva Film’s well-loved romantic-comedy
franchise.
After four years, Laida Magtalas and Miggy Montenegro
separated ways. The story will start with Laida leaving for the States to
pursue a better career and Miggy grieving for his father’s death. One has to
pursue her dreams while the other one found comfort in the arms of someone
else.
The first two films were Graded A by the Cinema Evaluation
Board and both are blockbusters earning over 400 million pesos in the tills; an
evidence that good movies can also sell tickets.
John Lloyd and Sarah’s chemistry emanates in the first two instalments,
but can they sustain it this time?
Though Sarah’s capability on tackling more mature roles radiates
on the trailer; I’m hoping to see more of her playing roles far from being a
rom-com heroine. John Lloyd on the other hand proves that his appeal is not
boxed in to a single film genre or loveteam, certainly this film would add
feathers to his cap of box-office hits. The film was partly-shot in the wintry New York City, a common Star Cinema recipe to somehow treat the eyes of its viewers.
What will it take for Laida and Miggy to have their happy ending? Find out this Black Saturday, March 30 in theaters near you. You can watch the trailer below!
